Get Over It By Ok Go Tabbed By stringping Tuning: EADGBe Lo to Hi
This is a great song, it has a really good chord progression that really is simple but sounds really great. The lead guitar has many lead runs throughout the song but I cant catch them I just improvise with the Minor Blues Scale in the Key of B so start with Pattern 4. If you dont know crap about scales go learn them or just play the rythm guitar part. I show my version of the lead runs but they are not the ones that the guitarist is playing. There is also a wierd effect which I dont know of, but it really dirties the signal and turns it into a rusty sound, I use a Wah for those parts. Its used in the lead runs and interludes. Listen to the song first so you know whats goin on! Peace out!
Guitar 1 = Rythm Guitar Guitar 2 = Lead Guitar
Intro Just a Stomp Clap Stomp Clap beat...
Verse(Guitar 1) e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- G|-4--4-X-X------------X-2-2-3-4---------------------------------------------- B|-4--4-X-X-4-4-3-2--2-X-2-2-3-4---------------------------------------------- A|-2--2-X-X-4-4-3-2--2-X-0-0-1-2---------------------------------------------- E|----------2-2-1-0--0-------------------------------------------------------- There are many small rakes within these chords.
Verse(Guitar 2) e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- G|------X-X------------X-2-2-3-4---------------------------------------------- D|-9--9-X-X-4-4-3-2--2-X-2-2-3-4---------------------------------------------- A|-9--9-X-X-4-4-3-2--2-X-0-0-1-2---------------------------------------------- E|-7--7-----2-2-1-0--0-------------------------------------------------------- Guitar 2 comes in one the 5th time with a slide down to the 15 fret on the low E string.
Chorus(Guitar 1) |Play when on second repeat's end | e|------------------------|---------------------------------|----------------- B|------------------------|---------------------------------|----------------- G|-7----------------------|---------------------------------|----------------- D|-7---X-4---5----7-------|-5------4------------------------|----------------- A|-5---X-4---5----7-------|-5------4------------------------|----------------- E|-----X-2---3----5-------|-3------2------------------------|----------------- Strum all of these chords
Chorus(Guitar 2) e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- G|-7-------------------------------------------------------------------------- D|-7-------------------------------------------------------------------------- A|-5-------------------------------------------------------------------------- E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turn down the volume a little and strum this single D chord with attitude! Downstroke all the way! Follow Guitar 1 for the last chorus!
Chorus End Fill(Guitar 2) e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- G|---4---------3-3s6---------------------------------------------------------- D|-3---3~----2---------------------------------------------------------------- A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Guitar 2 plays this near the end of the chorus
Post-Chorus Lead Run(Guitar 2) e|----------------------------------------------------------------7h10-12b------ B|----------------------------------------------10b--10b--10b-10p7--------12-12~ G|-9b--9b--9b-9-9p7--9-9p7--9b---9b--9-9p7--7h9--------------------------------- D|-----------------9------9---------------9------------------------------------- A|------------------------------------------------------------------------------ E|------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is done with some effect I dont know of... you have to trem pick the bends! Any way this is my improvisation of the Lead Run so it is definitely not right!
Interlude(Both Guitars) e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- D|-9------------11--12----9------------11--12--------------------------------- A|-X-------------X---X----X-------------X---X--------------------------------- E|-7-------------9--10----7-------------9--10--------------------------------- Strum the Chords Loud and FAST! There is a pause after the first barrage of strumming before going through to the second B chord. Alot of keyboard stuff here.
Clean Part Lead Fill(Both Guitars) e|-7~----7---10b-------------------------------------------------------------- B|-7~----7---10b-------------------------10-10-10-10-------------------------- G|-----------------9b10r9b10r9b10r9-9b10-------------r9-9p7------------------- D|---------------------------------------------------------9-9---------------- A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- There isn't much guitar here just bass and keyboards but there is a Lead Fill at the start right after the interlude. Which is shown above. This is my version so this is wrong too. Remember improvise yourself with the Minor Blues Scale Key of B, Pattern 4.
End Riff(Guitar 2) e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- G|---4--------3-3s6-4--------------------------------------------------------- D|-3---3~---2----------------------------------------------------------------- A|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- E|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Same as the Chorus End Fill but ends with a new note.
End Chord(Guitar 1) e|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- B|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- G|---------------------------------------------------------------------------- D|-9-------------------------------------------------------------------------- A|-9-------------------------------------------------------------------------- E|-7-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thats all!
